Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko said both parties agreed that kratom could boost the economic growth of the two countries.
"Therefore, we agreed to make kratom an export commodity. This is very possible to do because in the Minister of Trade Regulation Number 18 of 2021, kratom is not included in goods that are prohibited from being exported,” said Moeldoko in a meeting with representatives from the United States, at the Bina Graha Building, Jakarta, Monday (8/8/2022).

"There needs to be joint research between US and Indonesian educational institutions. This is because the US, especially John Hopkins University, has been doing research on kratom for a long time. While Indonesia has the goods. The hope is that this research collaboration will benefit the world," said Moeldoko.
